Grok, an AI-based chatbot developed by Elon Musk’s xAI company, is currently available only to paid X users, but this may soon change.
According to TechCrunch, the company has started testing a free version among some users in New Zealand.
X users who do not have a Premium or Premium+ subscription are offered 10 requests for the Grok 2 model, and 20 requests if they choose the less powerful mini model.
The latest model of the xAI chatbot was released in August 2024. At that time, it was possible to generate photos, but the model had no restrictions and did not even take into account copyright.
It is also reported that in order to use the chatbot for free, you need to have an account with X for at least 7 days and have a verified phone number.
