The new AUDI E concept car could very well have been the dream car theme for Friday. An attractive electric car with a rather large 4.87-meter station wagon body (!) and all-wheel drive realized through two electric motors with a total power of 570 kW or 775 hp (!!), a large 100 kWh battery with a range of up to 700 km (!!!), support for 800-volt architecture.
The AUDI E concept car also promises air suspension, swivel rear wheels, and very fast charging – in 10 minutes, you can recharge with enough energy to cover 370 km of run. And the interior is also beautiful: there is a 4K display, open-pore wood with background lighting, and additional displays instead of side mirrors.
Everything seems to be going well, but for one thing. The bottom line is that the AUDI E concept car is a harbinger of an electric vehicle from the new AUDI brand, created by Audi in partnership with the Chinese company SAIC. The goal is to combine the approach of the Germans in terms of suspension settings, workmanship, and a sense of premium, while adding a Chinese touch. For example, a local design studio was responsible for the design of the AUDI E concept, and close integration of Chinese services is also expected.
New electric vehicles under the AUDI brand will not have the typical four-ring symbol and will be produced at a local Chinese plant and, accordingly, sold only on the Chinese market (yeah, tell that to the Ukrainian streets). The first will be an electric car based on this AUDI E concept: the production version will debut in 2025. And then we can expect one AUDI electric car each – but not Audi, don’t get it wrong – in 2026-2027.
