Taiwan’s semiconductor production is expected to grow by 22%, to more than USD 164 billion by the end of 2024. This is due to economic growth and AI technologies, TSMC Senior Vice President Cliff Howe said, according to the Taipei Times.

Taiwan is a world leader in the production of semiconductors, which have become indispensable in many industries, from electronics to wind turbines and even rockets. TSMC controls more than half of the world’s chip production, and its customers include Apple and NVIDIA.

Cliff Howe expects Taiwan’s semiconductor production to reach NT$5.3 trillion (USD164.2 billion), up 22 percent from last year.

According to Hou, who is also the chairman of the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association, this growth is “driven by advancements in AI and gradual economic recovery.”

Тим часом новий президент Сполучених Штатів Америки Дональд Трамп звинуватив Тайвань у крадіжці американської індустрії мікросхем.

“These chip companies, they stole 95 percent of our business. It’s in Taiwan right now. They do a great job, but that’s only because we have stupid politicians,” Trump said during a lengthy interview in which he also claimed to have defended Taiwan from China during his first term as president.
