More and more smartphone manufacturers are announcing the launch of their smartphones with the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite. Xiaomi, Honor, and Samsung also announced new devices at the Snapdragon Summit event. This was reported by TechRadar.
Xiaomi 15 and Honor Magic 7 with the new Qualcomm chip will be launched in November 2024, but probably only in China to begin with. The global launch may take place as early as 2025.
The head of Samsung’s mobile division also appeared at the event and said that the upcoming Galaxy S25 series will also feature Snapdragon 8 Elite, but did not specify which model.
As for the comparison of the Snapdragon 8 Elite with its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it is the first mobile Snapdragon chipset with second-generation Oryon cores, which were designed to “handle the complexities of multimodal AI” much more efficiently.
Equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipset, the smartphones will provide faster app launch, smoother multitasking and more generative AI capabilities than their Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 predecessors. Gamers will experience sharper images, smoother gameplay, and longer gaming sessions thanks to the improved Adreno 8 Elite GPU.
ASUS has already announced a smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Elite, and realme wants to become the first company to release a device with a new chipset on the global market.
