The European Union is considering fining Elon Musk’s social network X for violating the Digital Service Act (DSA). However, the amount of the fine can be calculated based on the income of all the billionaire’s companies, not just the social network. This was reported by Bloomberg.

In July 2024, the European Commission warned the billionaire that he was not doing enough to combat harmful online content and disinformation on the platform under the DSA. If the company does not take additional measures to combat it, it faces a fine of 6% of its annual revenue.

In addition, the European Commission is considering including the revenues of SpaceX, The Boring Company, Neuralink, and artificial intelligence startup x.AI in the total fine. Tesla was not included in the list because it is a public company over which Musk himself does not have full control.

In addition to the fact that the European Commission is considering taking into account the income of all the billionaire’s companies, it is also considering fining Elon Musk himself instead of X. However, no final decision has been made on either the fine or its amount.
