Microsoft has released an updated Office 2024 suite of tools for consumers who don’t want to pay a monthly subscription to Microsoft 365. The suite includes updated Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.
The last version of a separate set of programs for work from Microsoft was released in 2021. Therefore, Office 2024 has received many updates and improvements compared to the previous version. First of all, all the programs in the suite have received Windows-style Fluent Design.
The programs also received more accessibility features for people with disabilities, support for the ODF format, the ability to add photos from a smartphone to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and even more individual improvements.
Excel gained support for dynamic charts with dynamic arrays, 14 new functions for text and arrays. In addition, you can now add images to your tables using copy and paste. Or you can use the IMAGE function to get images from the Internet. In addition, the overall speed has also been increased.
PowerPoint has also received a set of new features, including the ability to insert a camera feed directly onto a slide, as well as the ability to record an entire presentation or a single slide along with the person’s voice, gestures, and presence in the video. It will be possible to add subtitles to audio and video.
Outlook in Office 2024 has improved search and more options for creating and managing meetings. Word, in addition to a new design and improved performance, has the ability to restore the last files and documents in case the program is unexpectedly closed.
Office 2024 is available on Windows 10 and 11 and the latest three versions of macOS. The Office Home 2024 version with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote costs $149. The Office Home & Business 2024 version with Outlook and the ability to use all programs for commercial purposes costs $249.
