Apple has withdrawn from negotiations on participation in the OpenAI funding round, which is expected to raise about $6.5 billion. This is reported by Reuters with reference to The Wall Street Journal.

According to informed sources, the tech giant has recently withdrawn from the negotiations. The funding round is expected to close soon.

Other companies, such as Microsoft and NVIDIA, are in talks to participate. It is assumed that Microsoft may invest about $1 billion in OpenAI after having invested $13 billion in the company.

In August of this year, it was reported that Apple and NVIDIA were in talks to invest in OpenAI as part of a new funding round that could value the ChatGPT maker at over $100 billion.

The news came shortly after it became known that OpenAI was likely preparing for a new round of funding. It will allegedly be led by Thrive Capital, which will invest about $1 billion.
