Apple and NVIDIA are in talks to invest in OpenAI as part of a new funding round that could value the ChatGPT producer at more than $100 billion. Reuters reported this information in Western media.

Apple’s interest was first reported in The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources. Bloomberg wrote about NVIDIA’s potential participation.

This news came shortly after it became known that OpenAI was likely preparing for a new round of funding. It will allegedly be led by Thrive Capital, which will invest about $1 billion.

Microsoft, which is OpenAI’s largest strategic investor with more than $10 billion in investments, is also expected to participate in the funding round.

The exact amounts of possible investments from Apple, Microsoft, and NVIDIA remain unknown.

Earlier, it was reported that OpenAI could exhaust its cash reserves within a year. The company’s expenses for 2024 may reach $7 billion, outstripping revenues.
