The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 chip has received the macOS Sonoma 14.6 update, which allows the use of two external displays. This was reported by Apple Insider.
Apple first announced this feature for the new MacBook Air with the M3 chip. Until then, the feature remained exclusive to the Air version. The MacBook Pro could only support output to one external display.
The MacBook Pro M3 will now be able to display images on one 6K 60Hz external display and one 5K/60Hz external display.
All external monitors will need to be connected to Thunderbolt ports. You may also need a Thunderbolt dock to power and connect both monitors and all peripherals to your MacBook Air with a single cable.
