A new large crossover Audi Q9 is being prepared – a competitor to the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS

Rumors about the large Audi Q9 crossover have been circulating for a long time, and now, finally, Carscoops has shown the first photos. Thus, the new Audi Q9 crossover should become the largest in Audi’s model lineup – one step above the already well-known Audi Q7 (although it is interesting that AUTOCAR emphasizes the name Q7).

It’s difficult to talk about the design of the Audi Q9 at the moment, but it’s already clear: the body will be large with soft, smooth contours, and the front optics will be made in two storeys. It looks like the Audi Q9 crossover will resemble the Audi Q6.

The Audi Q9 is to receive an updated MLB platform, which will mean the possibility of using V6 and V8 engines, all-wheel drive and air suspension. It is also expected that hybrids based on MHEV and PHEV technologies will be widely used: in the latter case, you can count on a 20-kilowatt-hour battery and an electric range of up to 100 km.

All of this should become a reality by 2026, as Audi plans to fully switch to electric vehicles in the future. Accordingly, the Audi Q9 large crossover may become one of the last cars of the Four Rings with traditional internal combustion engines.
