Sovereign Syndicate is a steampunk RPG in the spirit of Disco Elysium

The role-playing game Sovereign Syndicate from the Canadian studio Crimson Herring has been released on Steam and GOG.com, reminiscent of two well-known RPGs – Disco Elysium and Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.

Sovereign Syndicate takes place in a steampunk version of Victorian London, where intelligent magical creatures such as minotaurs, dwarves, cyclops, centaurs, and others live alongside humans. And yes, technology coexists with magic here (we say hello to Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura and Ukrainian New Arc Line).

Like Disco Elysium, Sovereign Syndicate is a text-based role-playing game. The main characters “hear” inner voices that correlate to certain feelings and personality characteristics, and react accordingly to their “advice”. Success is checked by drawing Tarot cards, which replace the usual Dice from D&D CRPGs.

Sovereign Syndicate has three different protagonists – a minotaur, a human woman, and a dwarf – with their own motivations and completely different characteristics. You have to play as each of them in turn, and of course, their stories intersect.

As we have already noted, Sovereign Syndicate is available in Steam and GOG.com. At the moment, the game, which has received extremely positive reviews, can be purchased with a 10% discount for 373 UAH.
