The 2-in-1 value can be combined twice in one device. At least, Lenovo has managed to realize this. And at the same time, the user will actually get two devices by paying for one. The full name of the new product is Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid.

So, this ThinkBook looks like a fairly ordinary laptop. However, it has two sets of components inside. The top case has everything you need to run Windows: Intel Core Ultra 7 with integrated graphics, up to 32 GB of RAM and a terabyte drive, a 75 W•h battery, and more. The company called this part the Hybrid Station.

But the display has everything you need for the Android OS: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 38 Wh battery. This module is separately called Hybrid Tab.

Thus, by removing the display, the user has an Android tablet, and by connecting a monitor to the topcase, you can simultaneously use a Windows computer.

Each of the parts also has its own additions. The display/tablet has room for four speakers with a power of 1 W each, and there is a separate infrared face recognition. It also has a front and two main cameras (13 and 5 MP). USB-C can also be found here, and a separate proprietary port is used to connect to the topline.

The topcase is equipped with two 2W speakers and a fingerprint scanner. It also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a classic headphone jack.

Unusual hybrid: Lenovo combines Windows, Android, laptop and tablet in one device

The topcase weighs 970 grams and is 9.4 mm thick, while the screen/tablet weighs 785 grams and is 6.6 mm thick. The total weight of the structure is 1 kg 755 grams.

When using the devices together, you can stream from Windows to Android (Hybrid Stream, of course) in picture-in-picture mode, and use the keyboard and trackpad on the topcase in Android.

However, you will really have to pay for two devices. The price of Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid will be $2,000, and everyone who wants to try out this unusual hybrid will have the opportunity to do so in the second quarter of this year.
