XREAL has introduced new smart augmented reality glasses – Air 2 Ultra, which offer many interesting features at an affordable price compared to competitors, writes Android Authority.

The Air 2 Ultra has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels for each eye, a field of view of 52 degrees with 42 pixels per degree, which, according to the company, is higher than Apple’s Vision Pro, which has 34 pixels.

The glasses also support a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and have a maximum brightness of 500 nits. Air 2 Ultra supports 6 degrees of freedom (6 DoF) using two specialized 3D environment sensors.

In addition, the glasses have two built-in stereo speakers and 2 microphones. They also have a titanium frame, non-pressure nose pads in three sizes, and 3-position temple adjustment.

In terms of connectivity, Air 2 Ultra with Samsung Galaxy S22 and S23 smartphones powered by Snapdragon processors can be used for spatial computing. With other devices, the screen will be mirrored.

In addition, the new glasses also support Apple’s spatial video technology, so when paired with the iPhone 15 Pro, users will be able to watch the corresponding videos.

As of now, XREAL is planning to release Air 2 Ultra for developers only. They will cost $699 and start shipping in March this year. Developers who have purchased Nreal Light AR will receive a $100 discount.
