It seems that the iPhone has successfully passed the most unusual crash test. Apple’s smartphone “survived” a fall from an airplane and continued to function, writes user Seanathan Bates on the X platform.
This refers to an incident that occurred on January 6, 2024, on board an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9. The flight was heading from Oregon to California, but shortly after takeoff, the plane’s emergency exit door blew off.
The pilots then turned the aircraft around and made a safe emergency landing. None of the passengers and crew were injured. Later, it became known that Alaska Airlines was suspending flights of Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
The unusual discovery was reported today. It turned out that the iPhone literally fell out of the plane at an altitude of 16 thousand feet (4.87 km). But it did not break and even retained some of its charge.
The user who reported the found smartphone contacted the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in the United States. They reported that this was the second smartphone found from this flight. At the same time, the search for the plane’s emergency door is allegedly still ongoing.
