Pornhub started blocking access to content for users in two more US states – North Carolina and Montana, reports The Verge.

In this way, Pornhub is protesting against legislation that requires adult websites to confirm the age of users through digital identification. In both states, such laws came into effect on January 1, 2024.

So now locals no longer have access to Pornhub and other Aylo sites. This is not the first time the porn site has taken such action – last summer it blocked access for users in the states of Mississippi and Virginia. Also, residents of Louisiana, Utah, and Arkansas cannot visit the site.

As you know, Pornhub is protesting precisely because of the rules proposed by American law. Instead of digital identification, they call for the use of device identifiers.

Earlier, it was also reported that Pornhub, XVideos, and Stripchat will have to deal with stricter regulations in the European Union. This is because they fell into the category of “very large online platforms” under the European Digital Services Act.
