Peugeot releases its own crossovers in pairs – if the new Peugeot 3008 debuted, the larger Peugeot 5008 will soon be released. What will it be like?

Firstly, the new Peugeot 5008 crossover will have a more traditional design with a vertical trunk lid – unlike the coupe-like Peugeot 3008 with a sloping rear window. Secondly, the car will be much larger than its “younger brother”: Carscoops promises about 4.7 meters in length.

All this will help to favorably position the Peugeot 5008 as a more spacious and roomy model. Thirdly, in addition to the 5-seater cabin, a 7-seater variant will also be offered, which was a feature of the Peugeot 5008 before.

At the same time, the shape of the Peugeot 5008’s front panel, the location of the large rounded screen on a separate “leg”, and various switches should remain identical or very similar to the Peugeot 3008.

A similar story can be expected with powertrains: fully electric or hybrid. Thus, the electric version of the Peugeot e-5008 will have two batteries (73 or 98 kWh) to choose from and front (210-230 hp) or all-wheel (320 hp) drive with a pair of electric motors. We should also expect the appearance of the 136-horsepower hybrid, which was presented earlier – on the current generation Peugeot 5008. A PHEV hybrid with 180-225 “horses” would probably be useful.

We will learn more details during the official presentation of the new Peugeot 5008 and closer to the start of sales: it should happen in August 2024.
