Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount discuss possible merger

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish met in New York on Tuesday to discuss a possible merger. This was reported Axios.

One of the main topics of the meeting, which lasted several hours, was the possibility of merging Paramount+ and Max streaming services. This would help the companies better compete with Disney+ and Netflix. They also discussed the possibility of WBD buying out the company.

While such conversations are currently in the early stages and no decisions have been made, a potential merger could see WBD expand its streaming ambitions with Paramount+’s catalog of children’s shows.

Earlier this year, HBO Max was merged with another streaming service owned by WBS, Discovery+, to form a single service, now called simply Max.
