Although the release date of the action/RPG Final Fantasy XVI on PC is not yet known, the developers advise players to prepare an SSD. This is reported by Eurogamer, citing the words of the game’s producer/director Naoki Yoshida.

“Even if we did our best to adjust the GPU, in FF16 – a game where loading speed is critical – using the HDD would be a pain. Of course, we will do our best to optimise as much as possible,” Yoshida added, “but we cannot overcome the hardware barrier alone, so please consider that an SSD is a must. We will announce the exact recommended specifications on another occasion.”

It was believed that Final Fantasy XVI, which was released on June 22, 2023, would be a PlayStation 5 exclusive for six months, but now it is clear that the game will be released later.

Square Enix is currently working on two paid DLCs for Final Fantasy XVI. The first, Echoes of the Fallen, was released on December 7, 2023, and the second, The Rising Tide, is scheduled for spring 2024. Most likely, the Windows version of Final Fantasy XVI will appear after the release of both DLCs.
