Singer Taylor Swift has been named the Person of the Year 2023 by Time magazine. Thank goodness it’s not putin.

This year, Time was criticized for including Chinese President Xi Jinping, inadequate businessman Elon Musk, who was already the 2021 Person of the Year, and war criminal vladimir putin on the list of people who claimed to be the Person of the Year. The publication, which is known for having chosen Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin as its Person of the Year (twice!), decided not to take any chances this time and chose a singer. Then again, the crazed dictator vladimir putin was already Time’s Person of the Year in 2007, a year before he invaded Georgia.

By the way, Taylor Swift was also the 2017 Person of the Year as a member of the so-called “Silence Breakers,” a group of women who spoke out against sexual violence.

Тейлор Свіфт Time

Taylor Swift is the most successful singer of all time, the first and only one to earn more than $1 billion solely from songs and concerts. Swift has received more than 630 professional awards, including 40 American Music Awards, 39 Billboard Music Awards, 12 Grammy Awards, 26 Teen Choice Awards, and many others.

Last year, Time magazine named President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and The Spirit of Ukraine, a collective representing all Ukrainian citizens, as its Person of the Year.
