Platform X will target small and medium-sized businesses to compensate for the outflow of advertisers, reports The Verge.

A representative of X told the Financial Times about this strategy in a commentary.

‘Small and medium businesses are a very significant engine that we have definitely underplayed for a long time,’ the company told the Financial Times. ‘It [was] always part of the plan — now we will go even further with it.’

As it is known, global companies have begun to massively withdraw corporate advertising on X after the recent scandal. The Media Matters organization released a report showing that brand ads appear on the platform next to pro-Nazi content.

In response, X sued Media Matters, accusing it of defamation. However, the situation escalated when Elon Musk, speaking at the DealBook conference, told advertisers who stopped working with X to go fuck themselves.

Now, experts are speculating that the billionaire’s platform may lose even more advertisers. This may also include the loss of money from political advertising.
