The X platform will soon start displaying titles for links posted by users again. This was announced by Elon Musk, writes TechCrunch.

According to him, this will happen as part of the next update. However, the billionaire did not name any deadlines or give an example of how the option will work.

As a reminder, in October, the platform started removing headlines and text fragments from links in user posts. The billionaire announced these changes back in the summer. At the time, experts suggested that this way, X would encourage people to add a short description to their posts on their own. And this may push them to a premium subscription, where a message can contain up to 25 thousand characters.

However, in practice, users began to look for alternative options for publishing on X. For example, people started creating images with titles and adding links separately.

By the way, X recently got into another scandal. It is related to the placement of corporate advertising of global brands near pro-Nazi content on the platform, as reported by the organization Media Matters. In a matter of days, large companies refused to advertise on the social network. After these events, X sued Media Matters, accusing it of defamation.
