Subaru Forester Sport debut – already known dimensions and power

The design of the Subaru Forester became clear after the first images were leaked, but the technical component remained behind the scenes.

However, now, after the official presentation of the model, everything has finally become known. So, the new Subaru Forester crossover retains its SGP platform and 2.67-meter wheelbase. However, the body stiffness has been increased (+10%), and the length of the car has increased – now it is 4.66 meters.

Plus, the new design that has already been discussed: a huge dark grille, new headlights and lights (the latter are combined), plastic arch covers with ventilation holes. The design will differ slightly depending on the specific version of the model. Since we started with the Subaru Forester Sport modification, let’s take a look at its example: bronze decor, original 19-inch wheels…

But the equipment will be the same for everyone: a 2.5-liter 183-horsepower gasoline engine, all-wheel drive and CVT variator. In fact, the engine power has even decreased by a few “horses” compared to its predecessor, but torque has also been increased by several Nm: now 241 Nm.

However, there are more changes inside the Subaru Forester. First, there is an 11.6-inch vertical display and vertical ventilation deflectors next to it. Secondly, a new version of the EyeSight system with an expanded list of functions. Thirdly, the Subaru Forester crossover boasts an electrically operated trunk lid with an opening sensor under the rear bumper.

Finally, let’s add something about the Subaru Forester Sport: the steering wheel paddles used to select “virtual” gears are worth noting.

What’s next? New versions of the Subaru Forester for Japan and Europe, expansion of the engine range – for example, a hybrid is expected. And then the debut and launch of sales in Ukraine.
