The Game Awards 2023 nominees have been announced: Alan Wake 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 lead the way
The official voting for The Game Awards 2023 has started, in which Alan Wake 2 and Baldur’s Gate 3 have 8 nominations each, including both games nominated for Game of the Year.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is also in the running for Game of the Year, according to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Bros. Wonder та The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Interestingly, Bethesda’s long-awaited Starfield received only one nomination in the Best RPG category.
If we look at publishers, Nintendo received 15 nominations, Sony – 13, and Microsoft, including Activision Blizzard, – 10.
In total, this year The Game Awards will present 31 awards for games, directing, audio, voice acting, support, adaptation, and esports. The results of the voting, along with critics’ ratings from over 100 publications, will be announced on December 7 at The Game Awards presentation.
The Game Awards ceremony, also called the Game Oscar, has been held since 2014. Its predecessor, Spike Video Game Awards, existed from 2002 to 2013.
