At the end of last year, Waze started testing a feature that would notify users of their “accident history” on the road. As reported by Engadget, it is finally being officially added to the app.
Reportedly, drivers using Waze will receive notifications if there is a curve, intersection, or other place on the road ahead where accidents are common.
The app will decide whether to send users such a notification based on other drivers’ messages and artificial intelligence. It will take into account traffic, congestion, or road type.
Also, the app will not notify you of areas on the roads that you drive on a regular basis to reduce the number of notifications that will distract you. Thus, this feature will mostly be useful if drivers are driving on unfamiliar roads.
