Right now, Jeep is undergoing its own transformation in Ukraine: a new importer, new dealers, and a new line of vehicles. The company has just announced the launch of its first model, the Jeep Compass crossover, which will be offered at a price of UAH 1,237,700.

That’s pretty good for today’s times. Especially considering the famous Jeep name. But what’s the catch?

The Jeep Compass crossover is frankly not young – the second generation of the model was introduced back in 2016. But in Ukraine, sales of an updated version are starting: a changed “face”, new headlights and bumper, different wheels. And most importantly, the interior has been radically updated: pay attention to the new steering wheel, digital instrument panel, and a separately installed 10-inch display. It looks good!

Perhaps the catch is in the technology used? Yes, the Jeep Compass crossover will be offered in Ukraine only with front-wheel drive (and this is Jeep?!) and a small 130-horsepower 1.5-liter engine. However, the engine is not an ordinary one, but with a 48V MHEV hybrid and, accordingly, an additional electric motor with a capacity of 15 kW or 20 “horses”. And all this is combined with a 7-speed DCT transmission (“robot” with two clutches). Thus, the Jeep Compass crossover does not rely on power or all-wheel drive, but it should offer good fuel efficiency.

And what about the equipment? We will also be offered only one Limited version, but with quite good equipment: six airbags, lane control, traffic sign recognition, emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, rearview camera, LED headlights, keyless entry and engine start, wireless charging, UConnect multimedia system, fabric/leather interior, heated steering wheel and heated front seats. And all this for UAH 1,237,700.

At the moment, the offer looks really interesting. However, it is even more interesting to wait for the next Jeep cars in Ukraine and find out their price tags.
