YouTube is testing a new Play something button in its mobile app. It directs users to random videos, writes The Verge.

The new option was first reported by Android Police. They noted that the button only directs users to YouTube Shorts. However, The Verge found that the feature can open traditional long videos as well.

It is not yet known whether the YouTube feature takes into account the history of views when offering users a particular video. But it seems that the button has been tested for months. The first reports about it appeared on Reddit back in May.

Earlier, it was reported that YouTube expands the capabilities of its Creator Music project and adds an artificial intelligence function to it. This will help creators find music for their videos. YouTube is also testing the automatic creation of video annotations using artificial intelligence.
