Shutterstock allowed editing its image library using artificial intelligence. For this purpose, the company has introduced a set of corresponding AI tools, writes The Verge.

For example, thanks to AI, users will be able to remove the background. And the smart image resizing function will automatically change the shape of the image to fit the required size.

Another tool allows you to modify an image by hovering over it with a special brush. After that, you just need to enter a query about what you want to delete or add.

The new AI tools are still in beta. Shutterstock notes that they will allow users to create alternative versions of a stock or artificially intelligent image.

At the same time, the company promises compensation to artists if their images are licensed after editing with AI.

“This is an unprecedented offering in the stock photography industry,” Shutterstock CEO Paul Hennessy says in a statement. “Now, creatives have everything they need to craft the perfect content for any project with AI-powered design capabilities that you can use to edit stock images within Shutterstock’s library, presenting infinite possibilities to make stock your own.”

It has also recently become known that Getty Images is launching Generative AI, its own image generator based on artificial intelligence. It was developed in partnership with the American chipmaker NVIDIA.
