More than half a year ago, the cars of the Mercedes GLE family were updated in their entirety, but progress is unstoppable – innovations are still being introduced. An example of this is the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid, which replaced the similar “53” version. What is the difference? The fact is that from now on, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid is not just a hybrid, but a Plug-In hybrid.

Although from the outside it is primarily an AMG crossover! Branded spoilers, enlarged bumpers, original 21-inch wheels, round exhaust pipes. The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid looks great, especially in the coupe version.

And the technology is appropriate. The hybrid is based on a 3-liter 6-cylinder 449-horsepower turbo engine, which is assisted by an electric motor with a capacity of 100 kW or 136 “horses”. The total power of the hybrid system is 544 hp, which is enough to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. The top speed reaches 250 km/h, and the electric motor alone can reach up to 140 km/h.

However, the main feature of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid model is the 31.2 kWh battery. It is enough for a range of 80-87 km, depending on driving conditions and body type (the maximum is stated for the coupe body).

In keeping with its status and name, the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid crossover has been fitted with a host of sporty details. For example, powerful front brakes with 6-piston calipers and 400 mm discs. There is also a sports exhaust system and suspension tuning.

And also, of course, a sporty interior! Inside the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid, you’ll find sports seats with combined trim and ventilation, distinctive red seat belts, large displays controlled by MBUX, and more.

Speaking of electronics and controls. The hybrid version of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Hybrid has added a few more specific settings to the usual sport/comfort settings, such as controlling the battery charging process or choosing to drive exclusively on the electric drive.
