Star Citizen space game, which recently crossed the mark of $600 million raised for development (already $616 million), continues to impress. This time with the capabilities of the StarEngine engine.

This 24-minute demo of StarEngine’s capabilities was shown at the recent CitizenCon 2953 festival. There’s honest atmospheric and destruction physics, seamless transitions between space, planets, and station and ship interiors, large ships with multiple crew members, life-size solar systems, and much more. It’s really impressive…

That’s all well and good, Star Citizen has a really cool engine. But game development is not just about developing an engine, content, and DLC for money, it’s also about the ability to optimize resources, and most importantly, to stop in time. And this is what the authors of Star Citizen are sorely lacking. We continue to follow this extraordinary project in every sense.
