Windows 11 is already used by more than 400 million users worldwide, and the operating system is likely to reach half a billion users in early 2024, reports Windows Central.

The system reached this number of active devices two years after its release in October 2021. For comparison, Windows 10 reached this mark in just one year, and in 2020, the system was already installed on a billion computers.

Windows 11 at release was available for a limited number of computers manufactured after 2018. Because of this, many users simply could not upgrade, but even so, the number of devices with the latest operating system on board exceeds Microsoft’s expectations.

It is expected that in early 2024, Windows 11 will cross the 500 million mark. After that, if we believe the rumors, which have been somewhat confirmed by Intel, Windows 12 will be released, which will have a new design and features based on artificial intelligence.
