Popular porn sites in Texas have started publishing warnings that warn users about the unproven health risks associated with watching porn, writes The Verge.

This step was taken by the websites of Vixen Media Group, which includes Deeper, Blacked, and Vixen. This happened after the US Court of Appeals temporarily overturned the ruling that blocked the Texas law HB 1181. This document required adult websites to confirm the age of users and display health warnings.

So now the group’s sites contain controversial warnings that porn “has the potential to cause biological dependence” or “has been proven to harm human brain development.”

The pop-ups also state that porn “increases the demand for prostitution, child exploitation, and child pornography” and that its effects are associated with “emotional and mental illness.”

As you know, this law was supposed to come into force on September 1. However, activists and adult entertainment companies, including Pornhub and Brazzers filed a lawsuit claiming the document was unconstitutional, and the district court blocked it. However, the ban did not last long – on September 19, the District Court of Appeal suspended it.
