iPhone 16 Pro will get faster 5G modem, Wi-Fi 7, and new ultra-wide lens, analyst says

As soon as the iPhone 15 appeared on the market, active talks about the next Apple flagship started. Analysts expect that the iPhone 16 Pro will support a faster 5G modem and Wi-Fi 7, as well as a new ultra-wide lens, writes 9to5Mac.

Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities, said that the smartphones will be 0.2 inches larger than previous models. Due to the increase in size, the iPhone 16 Pro will be able to get the same tetraprismatic lens for 5x optical zoom as the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Another update to the camera system will be a 48MP ultra-wide lens. This component has been largely unchanged since the announcement of the iPhone 13 Pro, which has a 12MP camera.

Inside the smartphone will be a new A18 Pro chip, created using the same 3-nm process as the A17 Pro. With the help of a Snapdragon X75 modem, the 5G Internet connection on the device will be able to deliver download speeds of up to 7.5 Gbps.

Apple is also expected to introduce a less powerful version of the A17 chip for the iPhone 16 instead of using the A17 Pro. The smartphone will have 8 GB of RAM, instead of 6 GB in the A16 Bionic, and will not support the new 5G modem. In addition, the regular and Plus models will receive Wi-Fi 6e, not the new Wi-Fi 7.
