After the release of the iPhone 15, the first battery test results began to appear. YouTube reviewer Mrwhosetheboss tested the battery life of Apple’s new smartphones in his traditional test. As expected, the iPhone 15 Pro Max outperformed all previous Pro-series models, but it was unexpectedly outperformed by the iPhone 15 Plus. The smartphone worked for more than 13 hours with the screen on, setting a new record for the longest iPhone battery life.

Apple provides battery life specifications in terms of continuous audio and video playback sessions. According to these specifications, the iPhone 15 Pro Max leads the way in streaming video playback with 25 hours, compared to 20 hours for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Plus. Audio playback on the Pro Max should last 95 hours, while the Plus reaches 100 hours. However, these figures provide only a basic comparison between the models, as real-world use of smartphones usually involves more diverse and demanding tasks.

Mrwhosetheboss’ testing method was designed to simulate realistic daily use by cycling through power-consuming activities such as watching TikTok videos, participating in Zoom video chats, recording videos, and playing games. The smartphone screen remained on until the battery was completely drained.

The results showed that all iPhone 15 models outperformed their predecessors in terms of battery life. The iPhone 15 Pro was the first to run out of power, lasting 9 hours and 20 minutes, followed by the basic iPhone 15, which lasted just under 10 hours. The 15 Pro Max lasted 11 hours and 41 minutes, and the 15 Plus set a new record with 13 hours and 19 minutes. For comparison, the previous record holder, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, lasted 11 hours and 19 minutes.
