Even though it’s not the end of the week, I’d like to tell you about a new “dream car” that has recently appeared – the second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe.

And in addition to the traditional “faster and more powerful,” this new product has also become more practical. It all starts with an increase in size: the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe now has a total length of 4.73 meters and a wheelbase of 2.7 meters. Although the car has not become a fat giant, it has retained the appearance of concentrated energy on wheels.

Continuing on, the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe has a changed layout. Whereas the gearbox was located on the rear axle of the predecessor, it is now mounted directly behind the engine. This allowed for all-wheel drive and a more spacious interior.

It is not surprising that the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe now offers a 2+2 seating formula: small, but still seats are placed in the rear. But of course, in this case, all attention is focused on the driver and passenger in the front of the cabin: sports seats, the latest AMG steering wheel with double spokes, a powerful center console, and a tilted 11.9-inch touchscreen display.

Has the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe turned into just another stylish coupe for leisurely travel? Not at all – and the proof of that is the turbocharged 4-liter gasoline V8. The Mercedes-AMG GT 55 version has 476 hp and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 295 km/h. And the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 version offers 585 horses, acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h.

Not only all-wheel drive, but also a 9-speed automatic helps to achieve such performance. And powerful brakes help keep the car under control – by the way, the front ones have 6-piston calipers.

In addition, the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe can offer active aerodynamics, a retractable 5-position rear spoiler or a stationary wing, adaptive suspension with the ability to raise the front end by 30 mm to overcome bumps, etc.

So, the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe is fully consistent with the title of a real sports car. Which at the same time has become more practical and convenient.
