Samsung is planning to add new features to its latest devices to its previous generations of foldable phones, tablets and watches. The tech giant has announced that the One UI 5.1.1 update, the latest version of Samsung’s Android user interface, will be available soon.

The update includes improvements from the Galaxy Fold5, Flip5, Tab S9 series, and Watch 6, and extends them to devices released before 2023.

As for foldable smartphones, the One UI 5.1.1 update will be available for Galaxy Flip4 and Fold4 starting this month. Devices such as Fold3, Flip3, Fold2 and Flip will receive the update at a later date.

The update will also improve the multitasking capabilities of tablets such as Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, Tab S8 Ultra, Tab S7, Tab S7+, Tab S7 FE, Tab S6 Lite, Tab A8, Tab A7 Lite, Tab Active 3 and Tab Active 4 Pro. In addition, the new smartwatch features will be available for the Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.

Key updates for foldable smartphones include improvements to the taskbar that appears at the bottom of the screen when the device is half-folded. Users will have easier access to this panel, and the media playback button will be more visible and convenient.

On tablets and folding devices, multitasking is improved to allow smoother transitions between multi-window and pop-up modes.

Samsung smartwatches will benefit from the update with improved sleep tracking features and a more intuitive user interface. The Galaxy Watch will also be able to automatically adjust your SmartThings home devices to create a calming atmosphere while you sleep.

Fitness updates will include a personalized heart rate zone feature that provides five optimal running intensity levels based on individual ability. The Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 series will also feature irregular heart rate notifications.
