At least, this is what Autocar claims. What exactly are we talking about? Recently, information appeared that the Audi company is looking for a partner to create new electric cars. There was a model for the Chinese market, so they were looking for a Chinese partner. And now everything is decided – the SAIC company will act as a partner.

The reason for these processes is the delay in the development of its own SSP platform, on which promising electric novelties of Audi were to be built. Moreover, it seems that the delay is not related to “hardware”, but to “software”: the operating system to ensure the third level of battery life. In any case, we are still waiting for the SSP platform, but new Chinese-electric Audi models may appear soon.

The platform currently used for electric vehicles IM LS7 and IM LS7 SUV was chosen as the basis. Such a platform makes it possible to flexibly change the wheelbase within the range of 2.8-3.2 m and offers a modern 800-volt architecture. And now I wonder: won’t it all end with the fact that the already existing platform will eventually be used for Audi’s global future electric cars?…
