The UN Security Council will hold its first meeting dedicated to AI

At Britain’s urging, the United Nations Security Council will hold its first official discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) this week. This is reported by Reuters.

Governments around the world are considering how to mitigate the dangers posed by emerging AI technologies that could harm the global economy and reshape the international security landscape. The UK, which this month holds the presidency of the UN Security Council, is seeking a role as a global leader in AI regulation. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley will chair the discussion.
