Dedicated to fans of real “coupes”! Without any additions like “cross” or “4-door…”; we currently have the classic version of the “coupe” in the form of the new Mercedes-Benz CLE – and it’s a really attractive car.

Nominally, the Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe should occupy an intermediate position between the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe variants. What’s more: the new Mercedes-Benz CLE is even built using the basis of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class coupe, which is now ending its career. However, the changes are very large-scale and significant. In the literal sense of the last word: the wheelbase has significantly increased (we have a total of 2.865 m) and body length (we have a total of 4.85 m) – according to the last parameter, the new Mercedes-Benz CLE even surpassed the E-class coupe.

The interior of the new product also follows the aesthetics of modern Mercedes-Benz models, mainly the C-class. The latter is hinted at by the vertically oriented central console with a large 11.9-inch display, slightly turned towards the driver. Brand-name turbine deflectors for air supply are also recognized. But a separately installed 12.3-inch instrument panel display and a steering wheel with double spokes are already common to almost all modern Mercedes-Benz models.

It is worth noting that thanks to the increase in the wheelbase and dimensions in general, it was possible to increase the internal space. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe offers not only space but also convenience – the front seats have electric adjustment and heating as standard. Massage and ventilation are offered as options. In addition, contour lighting is provided: 64 colors to choose from!

LED headlights are already included in the standard configuration of the Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe, but Digital Light headlights with the possibility of flexible light adjustment are available as an option. In addition, several wheel rim options (18-19-20-inch) and performance options are offered for the car, including AMG Line.

But the motor options look much more interesting. To begin with, the usual 2-liter 4-cylinder engines: gasoline (CLE 200) or diesel (CLE 220d) versions with a capacity of 204 and 200 hp, respectively. It is worth noting that all versions of the Mercedes-Benz CLE “by default” will receive a mild hybrid system (adds 23 hp and 200 Nm in the first seconds of starting from a standstill) and an automatic 9G-Tronic.

If this is not enough, you can choose the Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 coupe: the forced 2-liter “four” produces 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, and also has 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Well, at the top of the line is the all-wheel drive Mercedes-Benz CLE 450, which can with dignity add the cherished letters AMG to its name: an in-line 6-cylinder 3-liter engine offers 381 hp and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

Probably, it is the last option that can get all the benefits of a sports suspension with a reduced (-15 mm) ground clearance. As an option, the Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe can be equipped with an adaptive suspension and a mechanism for turning the rear wheels: the latter can tilt to the side at an angle of up to 2.5 degrees.

It remains only to add that together with the Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe, the first images and information about the open version of the car were released. It is currently understood that the open version of the Mercedes-Benz CLE will have a soft roof and will go on sale in 2024 – before the start of the sunny season.

But the Mercedes-Benz CLE coupe will reach showrooms much sooner: the European start of sales is planned for the fall of this year. Probably, Ukrainian fans of the Mercedes-Benz brand will not be forced to wait long to turn their dream into reality.
