According to previous plans, NVIDIA will offer a version of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti video card with an increased local memory capacity of up to 16 GB on July 18. It would seem that there is a good occasion for a celebration, however, it seems that even video card manufacturers themselves do not count on particularly successful sales of such versions. Andreas Schilling from HardwareLuxx.de came to these conclusions after talking to several representatives of NVIDIA’s AIB partners.

Of course, the main reason for restrained optimism is the very high recommended price of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB. We will remind you that for the American market, it is $499 for basic versions, against $399 for 8 GB. Accordingly, tuned models with an improved cooling system will cost more. In addition, the price tags will be even higher in Europe.

NVIDIA will not offer adapters for the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB in the Founders Edition reference design, relying solely on partners. In general, there is a feeling that the developers will present a model with 16 GB of memory only to appease the wave of public indignation that has been raised not without reason after the decision to equip a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti level video card with only 8 GB of memory.

Such a capacity in certain cases may not always be enough for the most demanding games, even in Full HD mode. Of course, the version with 16 GB looks more attractive from the point of view of prospects, however, with a starting price of $499, the demand for such modifications may be more modest than desirable for video card manufacturers. Especially considering that the much more powerful GeForce RTX 4070 12GB has a suggested retail price of $599.
