Publisher Annapurna Interactive, the game publishing division of Annapurna Pictures, known for its arthouse films, announced the development of the game Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth.
The new game takes place between the events of the original 1982 film Blade Runner (1982) and the sequel Blade Runner 2049. The developers claim that this is the first game in the famous cyberpunk universe since 1997, when the classic point-and-click adventure Blade Runner from Westwood Studios came out, but that’s not true, there was also the VR game Blade Runner: Revelations (2018) from Seismic Games.
Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth is being developed by Annapurna Interactive itself, which has only acted as a publisher for the past 7 years. It was Annapurna Interactive that published such well-known and well-received games as What Remains of Edith Finch, Flower, Gorogoa, Florence, Gone Home, Outer Wilds, Journey, Kentucky Route Zero and Stray.
There aren’t any details about the genre or gameplay of Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth yet, but the trailer looks very stylish and shows a lot of references to the original film. The game already has a Steam page, so we suggest adding it to Wish list so as not to miss additional information on this interesting project.
