We are on the verge of updating a popular car – the new generation Skoda Kodiaq crossover should appear as soon as this fall. And now the Skoda company began to reveal the first details about the new product.

In general, everything was expected. The Skoda Kodiaq crossover will keep its platform (but in an updated version) and wheelbase, but it will increase slightly in total length, which should reach 4.75 meters. Also, the car will retain its recognizable design with characteristic 2-story headlights. By the way, the latter will receive the most modern matrix lighting technology.

As before, the Skoda Kodiaq crossover will offer a choice of gasoline or diesel engines and drive type: the 150-horsepower 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TDI versions will be available with front-wheel drive, and the more powerful 2.0 TSI (204 hp) and 2.0 TDI versions (193 hp) will get all-wheel drive. The appearance of the PHEV-hybrid version of the Skoda Kodiaq looks the most interesting. The combination of a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine and an electric motor promises 204 hp. power. And the use of a rather large battery – about 26 kWh – promises a distance of more than 100 km on the electric drive.

The Skoda Kodiaq car will be able to offer a 5- or 7-seat interior, and the increase in dimensions means an increase in space for passengers and the trunk – up to 910 liters against 835 liters in the predecessor. Among other interesting equipment, it is worth noting wireless charging with cooling, a digital instrument panel (for all configurations), information projection on the windshield. The automatic gearbox lever will turn into a switch under the steering wheel, and the central console will become a place for numerous shelves.

Production of the new generation Skoda Kodiaq has already begun, but these are only test specimens. The debut of the new product is scheduled for the fall of this year, after which orders will be accepted. Therefore, the first cars for customers will arrive at dealers in late 2023 or early 2024. We are waiting!
