The film Superman: Legacy now has actors of the main roles. After lengthy auditions, David Corenswet (The Politician, The Pearl) and Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Blacklist) were cast as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively. This is reported by The Verge.

It is not yet known what the upcoming film from Warner Bros. Discovery with director James Gunn will bring to the big screen. But now you can notice something in common with the previous films. This is the type of the main character, because David Corenswet really looks like the previous performer of the role of Superman, Henry Cavill.

The release of the film is scheduled for July 11, 2025. Many actors signed test contracts after auditions that expire within a few business weeks to avoid a possible future SAG-AFTRA strike.

We will remind that the work on Superman: Legacy has been going on for more than a year. Last year, the management of the DC studio announced the return of Henry Cavill to the role of Superman, in which he debuted in 2013 in the film Man of Steel by Zack Snyder. But soon those plans changed, and they decided to choose another actor for the main role. James Gunn wrote that Cavill will not play Superman, as the new film will focus on the early part of the superhero’s life.
