Recently, the Toyota company talked about its promising developments in the world of electric cars. It is interesting that a few years ago the “Japanese” almost completely ignored this segment, but now they are forced to catch up. Moreover, there are financial and engineering resources for this. Now, it seems, there is also a drive not just to catch up, but to overtake the competition. After all, the main ambitious goal is to create an electric car with a range of up to 1,500 km.

The main point of achieving the goal should be improved batteries. Toyota plans to develop new types of batteries that will gradually improve their properties: capacity will increase, charging time will decrease. Although the process is not fast, the plan is drawn up until 2027-2028.

In addition to the creation of new batteries, the mileage should also be affected by improved aerodynamics. The indicator of aerodynamic resistance at the level of Cd=0.1 serves as a benchmark, which will allow to significantly reduce energy losses – accordingly, leaving a larger reserve for the electric motor.

By the way, it is also planned to create new electric motors and current inverters: again, more economical in terms of energy consumption. In addition, the Toyota company seeks to slightly change even the production process – “mega-parts” (as in Tesla) will be used, which will reduce production costs. It seems that we are on the threshold of another Toyota automotive revolution…
