Samsung held a presentation of Bespoke Life 2023, dedicated to the new line of premium Bespoke home appliances and new initiatives aimed at saving the environment and reducing the amount of microplastics. The manufacturer plans to achieve this through the use of recycled materials, artificial intelligence, and a new filter for washing machines, the Less Microfiber filter.
Samsung environmental initiatives
The Bespoke Life concept from Samsung sees home appliances as a path to sustainable development and a greener future. So one of the focuses of the presentation was the progress made by the company in reducing carbon emissions throughout the life cycle of its products. Samsung has its own closed-loop recycling center and has started using bioplastics from used grease in the trays of its Bespoke fridges, as well as recycled fishing nets.
The products themselves reach users in ecological packaging – at the beginning of this year, the company also replaced plastic tape and rolls with paper.
This year, five new Bespoke appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, and air conditioners, as well as the Samsung Eco Heating System, will receive the updated SmartThings AI Energy Mode, which will soon be available in 65 countries around the world.
Combating microplastic pollution
In addition to helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumption, Samsung continues to actively fight water pollution with microplastics. After developing a washing cycle that reduces microfiber emissions by 54%, Samsung and Patagonia continued their collaboration and created the Less Microfiber filter.
Compatible with washing machines from Samsung and other manufacturers, the Less Microfiber filter captures up to 98% of microfibers released during the washing cycle and helps reduce the amount of microplastics to 132 grams per year per person (assuming two kilograms of laundry are washed four times per week). This is equivalent to about eight-pint plastic bottles. The Less Microfiber filter is already available in South Korea and will be available in Europe in August, and in North America and Australia in September.
Samsung Bespoke Jet AI
Alongside the presentation of its environmental initiatives, Samsung announced the global launch of the Samsung Bespoke Jet AI, a new wireless upright vacuum cleaner with up to 280W suction power, an advanced All-in-One Clean Station self-cleaning system, and artificial intelligence-based features.
The Bespoke Jet AI will be available for sale in Ukraine from July in Satin Black color, and pre-orders will be accepted from July 10.
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a HexaJet motor, which has a suction power of up to 280 W and a maximum power consumption of 730 W, so it is the most powerful motor in Samsung upright vacuum cleaners today.
The suction power of the HexaJet is increased by 25% compared to the previous Bespoke Jet model, and its efficiency is increased by 52%. At the same time, the engine is very light and weighs only 150 g.
To ensure you can clean longer without a break to recharge, the Bespoke Jet AI provides up to 100 minutes of operation on a single battery charge. This is the longest run time of all Samsung cordless vacuum cleaners. Its 4500 mAh battery has 80% more capacity than the previous model. It is also optimized to retain 70% of its performance for 500 cycles. Additionally, the kit includes a battery for 60 minutes of autonomous operation. So in total, the Bespoke Jet AI provides up to 160 minutes of battery life.
Bespoke Jet AI offers a wide range of advanced brushes for dry cleaning, wet cleaning, and other accessories. The Active Dual turbo brush cleans all types of floors and has a built-in LED light for illumination in dark places.
The kit also includes a brush for wet cleaning with a sprayer and microfiber pads. And for more convenient storage of complete brushes and nozzles, the Accessory Cradle accessory stand is used.
The Bespoke Jet AI vacuum cleaner uses a cleaning mode with artificial intelligence based on Samsung’s AI Optimum Tech technology, which, according to the manufacturer, increases the efficiency of cleaning various surfaces.
It is the first upright cordless vacuum cleaner with artificial intelligence to be certified by UL Solutions, a leading independent scientific safety organization. The AI-based cleaning mode allows you to determine the type of floor to ensure high-quality cleaning and efficient use of the battery.
The Bespoke Jet AI first detects brush load using a suction motion controller, as well as air pressure using special sensors. This data is then analyzed to classify the type of floor, and the vacuum automatically applies a calculated algorithm to ensure optimal suction power and brush rotation speed.
Bespoke Jet AI mode can reduce battery power consumption by 14% and increase maneuverability when used with the Active Dual turbo brush.
Connecting the Bespoke Jet AI to SmartThings via Wi-Fi allows users to customize the vacuum cleaner and its functions, as well as perform intelligent self-diagnostics.
The vacuum cleaner comes with the updated All-in-One Clean Station system, which uses Air Pulse technology to automatically clean the dust bin and ensure a more hygienic cleaning. When emptying the dustbin, Air Spin Edge technology creates a vortex with blade speeds of up to 1,000rpm to remove debris, particularly hair or fur, that can get stuck in the dust collector grid.
The All-in-One Clean Station automatically closes the lid after each cleaning and is equipped with a multi-layer filtration system that, according to Samsung, captures 99.999% of fine dust.
