It’s no secret that thanks to Apple’s hardware and software development, it is possible to distribute new versions of the iOS operating system for the iPhone very quickly. The company’s latest statistics says that the latest iOS 16 is installed on 81% of all iPhones currently in use. And for models released in the last 4 years, this indicator is even higher – 90% of them use iOS 16.

At the same time, each manufacturer of Android smartphones independently decides when and for which models to release new versions of the Android operating system, which creates a fragmentation problem when current models use different versions of the OS. In the past few years, Google has managed to reduce this problem by working with partners like Samsung. The company accelerated the release of updates for its models of high and medium level, and also increased the time of their support.

In second place is Android 10 Q (Queen Cake), which is installed on 17.8% of devices.
