So, Lexus is opening a new market segment for itself – the B-class crossover. The company has just presented its first production car Lexus LBX, which should significantly strengthen the position of Lexus in Europe, for which this crossover was created in general. What is it like?
First, it is a small 4.19-meter 5-door car in typical Lexus style: pointed headlights, a frameless radiator grille, a solid red line between the lights. Secondly, the Lexus LBX crossover is built on the GA-B platform with a 2.58-meter wheelbase. Thirdly, hybrid technology is hidden inside the body: a gasoline 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine in combination with an electric motor together produces a power of 100 kW (136 hp) and 185 Nm of torque.
The interior of the Lexus LBX is also notable for its corporate style and execution. For example, in the form of a digital 12.3-inch instrument panel or a large flat 9.8-inch touch display. And in general: the Lexus LBX is equipped at the level expected from Lexus – for example, the car has a set of safety and driver assistance systems, data projection on the windshield and premium audio with 13 speakers are offered. Despite the compact dimensions, there was room for a 332-liter trunk.
The exact list of versions and configurations will become known closer to the start of sales. Similarly, the cost of the new Lexus LBX. We don’t have long to wait: the production of the car will start before the end of this year, and the first sales in Europe will start in early 2024. After that, we are waiting in Ukraine.
