The British company Aston Martin presented its new supercar, where it once again tried to combine traditional elegance with high-tech power. This is the name of the new creation – Aston Martin DB12.

Logically, the Aston Martin DB12 coupe is the successor to the Aston Martin DB11; and we can even say more – it is built on its basis: the wheelbase has not changed, and the general outlines and aluminum structure of the body have also remained. However, the work of the creators of Aston Martin is interesting in its details. The appearance of new amplifiers made it possible to increase the rigidity of the body by 7% compared to its predecessor, from now on 21-inch wheels were installed instead of the 20-inch ones before, the chassis was slightly changed – the track was increased and the shock absorber settings were changed. And Aston Martin also did not miss the fashion for increasing the radiator grille…

The key changes have taken place under the hood: goodbye to the V12 engine – meet the V8 engine in the Aston Martin DB12 model. But what an engine! This is a gasoline 4-liter “turbo” from AMG, additionally redesigned and refined, thanks to which the power equals 680 hp, and the torque reaches the mark of 800 Nm.

Everything is sent to the rear axle through an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and a differential with electronic control E-DIFF, which is also a novelty. In addition, powerful brakes with steel discs with a diameter of 400 mm in front and 360 mm in the rear help to keep the car under control. Carbon ceramic brakes are offered as an option for the Aston Martin DB12. A strong argument is the car ability to reach a hundred km in 3.6 seconds and accelerate to 325 km/h.

And important changes took place in the interior. It is now completely new: a large digital instrument panel, a central 10.25-inch display with its own menu, and many buttons and switches – the Aston Martin company is particularly focused on preserving convenient and familiar controls. However, some buttons have disappeared: note the automatic transmission joystick instead of the line of horizontal buttons before – almost a revolution for Aston Martin!

The production of the Aston Martin DB12 coupe will begin soon – the first copies of the car will reach their owners as soon as the fall and at the beginning of winter: it will be a great gift for the New Year holidays! Although the gift is clearly not cheap. The estimated cost of the Aston Martin DB12 supercar starts at 185,000 pounds or about $230,000. The next “gifts” from Aston Martin will be even more expensive: after the debut of the main Aston Martin DB12 model, its open version and an even more “charged” version should be expected.
