During the presentation of the PlayStation Showcase, a remake of the third part of MGS was announced – Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (the letter of the Greek alphabet Δ is used in the logo).

Many consider Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater to be the best game in the series – it was released in 2004 on the PlayStation 2 and acted as a prequel to the first two parts. Unlike subsequent games, the gameplay in MGS3 relied more on stealth than gadgets and a large number of weapons for the main character.

According to Konami, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will preserve the spirit of the original and become a true remake, with “the original rich story and extensive opportunities for survival in harsh conditions, complemented by unprecedented graphics and exciting sound”.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater does not have a release date yet, but it is expected that the release could take place in 2024. The game will not be exclusive to any one platform and will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Additionally, during the PlayStation Showcase, Konami also announced Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, a compilation of the first three parts, celebrating the series’ 35th anniversary, due out this fall.
