A few days before the official announcement of Radeon RX 7600 video cards, almost all the key technical specifications of the expected adapters are already known from previous data leaks. Another confirmation was a screenshot of the GPU-Z diagnostic application, made on a platform with AMD’s new product. Although CPU-Z does not yet fully support the Radeon RX 7600, the utility correctly determined the main parameters of the video card.
So, the Radeon RX 7600 will use the Navi 33 XL graphics processor with the RDNA 3 architecture. The chip is manufactured by TSMC using 6-nanometer technology, has a monolithic crystal area of 204 mm², and contains 13.3 billion transistors. The GPU includes 32 Compute Units with 2048 stream processors. The base frequency is set at 1720 MHz, Game Clock – 2250 MHz, Boost Clock – 2655 MHz. According to leaks, the actual value can go up to 2850 MHz in games.
The Radeon RX 7600 will get 8GB of GDDR6 memory running at an effective 18,000MHz. Using a 128-bit bus allows you to get a bandwidth of 288 GB/s. The indicator is identical to that declared for the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. However, as in the case of NVIDIA’s new product, an additional buffer should “smooth out” the effect of a low ROM. If in the case of the RTX 40xx, it is a rather capacious cache of the second level, then the Radeon RX 7600 uses 32 MB of Infinity Cache, which is actually L3.
Like the vis-a-vis from the competing camp, the Radeon RX 7600 will receive a PCI-E 4.0 x8 connection interface. The level of energy consumption of the novelty is not yet known for sure. According to preliminary information, TGP values close to 120 W are expected. Although in the already available photos of the Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 PULSE video card, the graphics adapter has an 8-pin connector for connecting additional power.
Also, AMD has not yet disclosed the recommended cost of the video card. This is a very sensitive parameter, especially given the almost simultaneous launch of directly competing video cards from NVIDIA and AMD. Judging by the sources of online sites, which accidentally “highlighted” the price of the novelty, we can expect a cost of $300-329.
It will definitely be very interesting to directly confront the Radeon RX 7600 with the GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. For the latter, the developers have already outlined the initial positions and the balance of forces with their predecessors. There is no such information for Radeon RX 7600 yet. However, taking into account the official release date – May 25, we will soon be able to assess the potential of the graphics card from AMD.
