As the announcement of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti approaches, information is emerging daily with additional specification details, estimated prices, and potential new graphics card capabilities. This time the update is really worth paying attention to, because colleagues from VideoCardz managed to get NVIDIA’s presentation slides.

GeForce RTX 4060 Ti specs

The received information generally confirms the previous specifications of GeForce RTX 4060 Ti and GeForce RTX 4060. The older model will be presented in two versions – with 8 GB and 16 GB of memory. The video card offers a theoretical performance of 22 TFLOPS (FP32).

The bit rate of the bus is not directly indicated in the table, but the total bandwidth of 288 GB/s gives no reason to doubt that the adapters received exactly a 128-bit data transmission line. At the same time, we note that NVIDIA especially emphasizes the increased capacity of the L2 cache memory to 32 MB and operates in terms of the effective bandwidth of the subsystem, which for the RTX 4060 Ti is 554 GB/s.

Regardless of the memory capacity, both GeForce RTX 4060 Ti modifications have a declared power consumption level (TGP) of 160 W. For comparison, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti has 200 W, and the GeForce RTX 2060 Super has 175 W. Judging by the given data, the power consumption of the novelty will be better in all modes (rest, video playback, average in games).

Finally, there is confirmation of the leaks that first appeared a few days ago – the recommended price of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB will be $399, and the 16 GB version will be as much as $100 more expensive – $499.

The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB and GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB also had MSRPs of $399.

GeForce RTX 4060 Ti performance

The first idea of the capabilities of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti can be obtained by looking at the gaming performance of the graphics card, compared to the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and the GeForce RTX 2060 Super. It should be noted right away that NVIDIA primarily emphasizes the significant advantage of the novelty when using DLSS 3 with Frame Generation technology, which is not supported by models of previous generations. In such cases, of course, the difference is very significant. However, the balance of power in projects without DLSS3 is no less interesting.

Here the advantage is more modest. According to the given data, GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is ahead of its predecessor GeForce RTX 3060 Ti by 7-25%. The average value for the specified projects is 14%. Based on these indicators, we can assume that the performance of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB will be at the same level as that of the GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB.

As for the comparison of the capabilities of the new product and GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8 GB, here the average advantage is already about 59%. Let’s pay attention to the fact that NVIDIA offers test results in Full HD mode. Therefore, it is not difficult to assess the general positioning of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.

GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB performance

The given slide comparing the performance of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB model does not provide additional information. The figures are identical to those given for the 8 GB version. At most, in several projects, the fps values for all models are lower than in the previous chart.

Be that as it may, in order to fully evaluate the capabilities of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti, you should wait for the results of more detailed independent tests. The NDA for publishing reviews is valid until May 24th.
